DO THIS IN REMEMBRANCE OF ME

Some more on the Charlotte Rescue Mission, via the Ann-Margrock Fan Club. First, a recap:
Asking for forgiveness, the pastor of Central Church of God announced from the pulpit Sunday that the Charlotte church will continue supporting two ministries it had decided to quit helping.

The Rev. Loran Livingston, though, told The Observer that the church would no longer support Charlotte Rescue Mission, citing in part the involvement of three Muslim students who helped serve a meal there.
It turns out the Charlotte Rescue Mission has had its own moment in the bigotry arena:
The head of the Charlotte Rescue Mission said Tuesday he’d welcome donations of food and money from the members of a church for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender Christians. The Rev. Tony Marciano II just doesn’t want members of Metropolitan Community Church of Charlotte to come and serve a meal to the mission’s clients.
....
Begun in 1938, Charlotte Rescue Mission offers a Christ-centered, residential treatment program for men and women fighting drugs and alcohol. The nondenominational ministry was founded by nine Christian businessmen, including Billy Graham’s late father, William Franklin. Located on West First Street near Ericsson Stadium, the mission serves 132 men and 12 women through its Rebound and Dove’s Nest programs. Marciano said the ministry doesn’t screen for sexual orientation, though he knows some clients are gay.
